Never a dull moment with Chef Rose

She welcomes you to her place, show you how to cook some of her sought after dishes (in her previous restaurant), give you endless tips while doing that and, when all the cooking is done, present nicely for you to enjoy. Merely tasting the food is something that she is strongly against so next time when you plan on coming for her cooking classes....empty your stomach, focus your thoughts and open your heart.

Just another day with Chef Rose....

Apple Strudel is something that we are all familiar with.... but what about Salmon Strudel??! Yes, almost the same process as the apple but with salmon in it. Back in days of Klimt's and Chef Rose, yes the restaurant, Salmon Strudel was one of the sought after dish.
Here, Chef Rose has opened her kitchen, literally, to food enthusiasts and teach them the art of salmon 'strudelling' in her recent cooking class.

Ingredients for Salmon Strudel
To fold the salmon in...
Baking in oven
Salmon strudel is ready to be served

As for the salad, the 'students' were taught to prepare ChefRose's Salad Dressing to be drizzle over the mountain of greens top with seeds...
Lots of green and dashes of red

Dessert for the day is a typical Viennese style pancakes, Kaiser or 'Kaiser Schmrrn'. Words of Chef Rose...."it's very easy to prepare..." Just sprinkle some sugar dust for added sweetness.

Dinner at Chef Rose's

Last wednesday 27th July, Chef Rose prepared Spanish cuisine much to our delight. With Seafood Paella as main menu, happy campers we were.

Intense conversation

Menu for the evening...
Gazpacho...cold tomato soup as starter
Seafood Paella as main course
Crema Catalana for dessert

In life, at times, all we need is good food along with good company.

Our first dinner event....

On 26th July, Tuesday, we had an intimate dinner of six as our first event.
The dinner was for two celebrations....a 36th (if i heard correctly) wedding anniversary of one of the most charming couple i've met, and a birthday celebration of their son.
So, Chef Rose and I were doing our best to make it an eventful for the couple, sister in law, their two sons, daughter in law, and their grandchildren. A family affair indeed and a heart-warming too.
It started with fresh tomato soup with rye basil croutons, Aussie grain-fed tenderloin with blue cheese sauce and black pepper sauce, mash potatoes and french fries and vegetables.
Due to the 'tight dateline', we forgot about taking photos of the nicely prepared meal but here we managed to take some photos while still work-in-progress.
At the end of the evening, we were given quite 'handsome' tips. I say, job well done.

Our Chef is trained in Continental cuisine and 'Klimt's' restaurant was one of the few top choices for this cuisine.
